How to defeat resistance & achieve your dream goals.

Resistance is the voice in your head that says “I don’t feel like it right now”. The voice that will convince you “I will do it later in the day”. The voice that makes up every possible excuse to keep you from achieving your dream goals and doing the crucial and meaningful work that has to be done.

The moment you want to write, practice your instrument or work on your project, and you decide to make yourself some coffee first, check your email, clean up your stuff or take care of something urgent, you’ve been deluded by “resistance”.

Your mind will fabricate any distraction to not have to do anything that SEEMS kind of hard or difficult. It looks for a way out by choosing to do the easier stuff. Yes unfortunately, your mind is programmed that way.

But no worries, you can defeat your resistance by consistently applying these key steps.

Go Against The Grain (Do The Opposite)

If you look at the people in your life that are unhappy with their jobs, their relationships, their body, their lifestyle and many other things, would it be wise to follow their footsteps and advice? ……… You fill in the blanks.

Just observe the joyless people around you. Notice how they think, what they do and say and then try to do the exact opposite. You’ll be surprised with the outcome.

Attempt and experiment with the opposite of their daily routine, their choice of words, their decisions and beliefs on money, health, love, life, and thoughts on what can or can not be done.

Yes, that might be a scary to thing to do, because it’s easier to go with what most people think, say or do, even if that means the majority of the people around you are living unhappily, stressed and full of anxiety. It’s the scary “afraid of the unknown” part that keeps you where you are.

You have to face the fear of the unknown, the fear of the opposite, or have what they have.

Surrender yourself to the fear, embrace it, make it light and easy going. Be curious to explore the possibilities of the opposite. On the other side there is inspiration, growth, love and joy. Let’s go against the grain.

How to Stop Your Suffering

People suffer every day in small and large ways, and suffering can take on many forms. Though there is one important distinction to make.

There is physical suffering which is usually referred to as physical pain, as in an injury or chronic pain in the muscles, joints, or bones. And then there is mental suffering like anxiety, stress, anger, jealousy, insecurity, and frustration. The majority of people suffer from the latter.

No matter the form of mental suffering, as long as you are in an unconscious state of mind your suffering is out of your control . Unconscious means your MIND and thus your LIFE is on AUTOPILOT and your reacting compulsively to situations through states of fear and desire. You’re spiritually unaware.

When you suffer unconsciously you are caught up in the thinking mind. You’re creating unpleasant thoughts about someone or something. You don’t like the person or their actions, or you don’t like the situation you feel you are trapped in. Once you become conscious of this you can change your suffering.

What it means to be truly alive

Being fully conscious is being truly alive. When you are fully conscious you are aware of what is happening right now at this very moment. Not in your mind, but in real life.

You truly see the trees as you’re walking by, you truly hear the birds chirping in the trees, you truly see the sun burning brightly and fully alive in the sky, you truly listen to your kids when they tell you something that is important to them, you truly taste the flavors and texture of your food, and you truly feel your breath moving in and out of your body.

Being fully conscious means you are not living inside of your mind. You are not thinking about tomorrow, or a week from now, or even just 5 minutes from now, lingering in your own predictions and assumptions.

You are not thinking about yesterday, a week ago, or even 5 minutes ago, recollecting, regretting and feeling miserable about past mistakes or past failures. It would be a waste of this very precious present moment.
