If you look at the people in your life that are unhappy with their jobs, their relationships, their body, their lifestyle and many other things, would it be wise to follow their footsteps and advice? ……… You fill in the blanks.
Just observe the joyless people around you. Notice how they think, what they do and say and then try to do the exact opposite. You’ll be surprised with the outcome.
Attempt and experiment with the opposite of their daily routine, their choice of words, their decisions and beliefs on money, health, love, life, and thoughts on what can or can not be done.
Yes, that might be a scary to thing to do, because it’s easier to go with what most people think, say or do, even if that means the majority of the people around you are living unhappily, stressed and full of anxiety. It’s the scary “afraid of the unknown” part that keeps you where you are.
You have to face the fear of the unknown, the fear of the opposite, or have what they have.
Surrender yourself to the fear, embrace it, make it light and easy going. Be curious to explore the possibilities of the opposite. On the other side there is inspiration, growth, love and joy. Let’s go against the grain.
Let’s take a look at the keys:
Stop hurrying, and feeling stressed out. Slow down. Drive, walk and talk slowly. Relax and enjoy your surroundings consciously.
Don’t use email the way everyone else does. Reclaim your life. Get away from email and social media as much as possible. Spend time in nature, with real friends or achieve your dream goals. Only use email when absolutely necessary.
Start living more time in REAL LIFE, and less living in your mind. Be aware of what is HERE NOW and let go any thoughts whatsoever.
Stop doing things you don’t enjoy. Be ruthless, drop, remove and reduce all of your low and non value activities. If under no circumstance you can’t get eliminate an unpleasant activity, then go all in. Learn to love it, appreciate it, learn and benefit from it. Make it your teacher and turn it into your possibility. Do the opposite.
Do less, instead of more. Doing less gives you room to think and do things more effectively, or better yet, more wisely. Doing less increases your sense of peacefulness. The more you do, the less reflective you can be. Do less and you can be more conscious of your actions and activities. “Doing nothing is better than being busy doing nothing” ~ Lao Tzu.
Leave your comfort zone. Go beyond the feeling of resistance. Go after that exciting yet challenging project you always dreamed about. Walk up to that interesting or magnificent person you want to talk to. If you’re uncomfortable with that or afraid, that’s just resistance. Nothing more. Go beyond that resistance. Ignore any anxious thoughts or feelings and replace them for trust and love, and take that opportunity. Enjoy it.
Try meditation and get in tune with your real self. Stop living a compulsive life. Meditation will change the way you live and experience life. You will be happier because of it.
If you are used to a non-active lifestyle (working at the office, going to work by car and watching TV) then aim for an active healthy lifestyle. Change your habits. Walk or run on a daily basis. Walk or bike to do grocery shopping. Play soccer or football with your kids. If you use your body more, your body will generate more energy, and your life will flourish.
Be lighthearted, fun, cool, calm, relaxed. Turn drama into laughter. Be the light in negative or pessimistic conversations. Be the inspiration and joyful human being that people want to be around with. Make people feel good about themselves. Share you wisdom.
Be unusual and onorthodox in your use of time. Become unconventionally effective in all that you do. Create your own unique and exceptional lifestyle filled with love, space, creativity and limitless possibility. Do what you truly believe, even if other say it can’t be done.
Go against the grain.
Keeping a slow and conscious pace is a good way to start the day.
You’ll probably be one of the few, if not the only.
The rest is hurrying along staring at their mobile phones.
I really should start meditating again.
Hi Darrel,
Absolutely. It’s so nice to start your day being fully conscious and in a relaxed state.
Good things will come from that.
Best,
